Continue to Recall

I will perpetuate your memory through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever. Psalm 45:17

The psalmist is consciously remembering what the Lord has done. He is allowing his mind to continue to recall what God is doing and has done, and as he does this, he lives in praise.

Our mind is filled with many memories, and each day many of those come flooding back. We can choose which ones to let go of and which ones we will continue to recall. When we focus on the negative of the past our mind can become dulled to the good. We wallow in the memories of old, which do nothing but draw us back.

However, we can choose to dwell on the memories of the Lord and find a reason to praise. When our mind starts processing everything God has done, we find reasons to celebrate. The mind is a powerful force, and the memories which lay dormant we can choose which ones we will continue to recall.
