An Open Heart

Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8

Is it possible to trust God and yet keep our hearts closed to him? Can we trust someone if we don’t allow them into our inner chambers? How can we trust God if we don’t trust him with our heart? When David is asking others to trust God, he knows the steps to faith is pouring out our heart to him.

It takes a great deal of trust to pour out your heart to anyone. But God knows our hearts anyway even before we become vulnerable. God is desperately in love with us and to make his passion evident He sent Jesus. We can now trust his protection and guidance at all times.

For some, trust is a bad word, and the ability to have faith is impossible. We may have opened our heart before only to have it hurt. But with God, He promises to be our refuge and our safe place. What would stop us from pouring out our hearts to God? What remains in your heart that is keeping you from trusting him at all times? It could be it is difficult to believe because we have a closed heart, but don’t allow your ego to stop you.

Today in the Workplace

Pour out your heart to God.
