As We Age

Even when I am old and gray do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come. Psalm 71:18

The Psalmist knew his age wasn't going to stop him from declaring the praises of God. He knew retirement from being an ambassador of God wasn't an option. He understood his call was to make sure the next generation was aware of the acts of God.

Even as old age creeps in, our voice shouldn't stop proclaiming the works of God. Age should only increase our witness because of all the experiences we have walked through—retirement from being a witness of God isn't Biblical. Our thoughts should be concerned about the next generation of believers. We should walk boldly as our age increases because confidence in God should grow.

Think today, who needs to hear of the most extraordinary acts of God. Think of who will be the next generation and impart into their lives the goodness of God. Please stay clear of judging the next generation or become irritated by their ignorance. Step in and become the voice of truth; be cautious of stepping back; they need influence. The next generation is calling out for guidance- where are we taking them?
