May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. Psalm 67:3
I personally can't think of a better way to start anything other than first stopping and praising the Lord. Now is it my first reaction to all situations of life, by no means? Sometimes the hustle of the day leads to forgetting the praise; let's conquer the day. There is no time in twenty-four hours to give God credit. I am super important and have lots on my schedule. Does this sound familiar? We may not think we are all significant, but if we can't stop and praise the Lord, we say something.
Praise is lifting our thoughts to God and telling him how grateful we are. Praise is remembering the greatness of God and complementing Him for who He is. It could be praising has become problematic because we struggle to find the good in life. We may have difficulties because life isn't going as we have planned, and the anger and resentment have settled in. We have turned inward, trying to find reason and purpose for life, and sadly have no gratitude.
Stop for a minute, and allow your mind to dwell on the goodness of God. Stop and reflect on who He is and what He has created in you, and you have meaning and purpose. What if the only significance you had was to give God Glory. And because of praising Him, your perspective on life became meaningful and packed full of purpose. Praise lifts the meaning of life to a higher plane because now we see more than ourselves! May 2021 be a year of praise.
